What are copper cups?
Copper cups have lasted for years. In the past, the cups were used to drink water. The idea with a cup made of copper is that the cup is 100% copper and not mixed. Then you put water in the cup overnight, put a lid on it. Then you leave the cup overnight and then drink the water in the morning. The water is said to contain anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects for the body due to the copper. It also contains a number of advantages.
A real copper cup also has copper inside and must therefore be made of pure copper.
Nowadays, copper cups for the catering industry are simply made from a mixture. This is because toxins are released due to the pH values of the drinks that are poured into the cups. We offer completely copper and mixed cups that you can use in the catering industry.
What do you use copper cups for?
As described earlier, you can use the cups or mugs for water to bring out the healthy effects of the precious metal. However, you will also often see mixed copper cups being used for cocktails. A very hip and well-known cocktail of the moment is the Moscow Mule.
The Moscow Mule
It is not entirely certain who invented the drink, but there are stories that the drink was invented in 1941 by a bartender in Los Angeles. In the 1930s, Smirnoff's rights were bought by an American drinks manufacturer that was struggling with a lot of Ginger Beer. Vodka was not yet that popular in America, so the American had to deal with a cellar full of vodka and Ginger Beer. The American tested the two ingredients here and there, later added lime juice and eventually the Moscow Mule was introduced to the world. It is actually a simple cocktail, but the drink is nice and refreshing and a bit sweet. Nowadays the cocktail is immensely popular and the copper cup provides a refreshing feeling when you take a sip of your Moscow Mule.
Of course you can also serve other cocktails in the special copper cups, for example give your own twist to the Moscow Mule. Or take a look at what we offer cocktail glasses. Do you have a question about our products? Please feel free to contact us!
